| The rainy June weather brought a ray of sunshine for Coffee Nation |
According to the UK’s premium self-service coffee provider, Coffee Nation, consumers across the country have been swapping typical summer tipples for a hot cup of coffee in an attempt to warm their cockles!
In what was one of the wettest Junes on record, Coffee Nation reports that its coffee sales were up 36% on June last year, selling an impressive £1.5 million worth of coffee from its gourmet self-service coffee bars.
“Contrary to our expectations, June was a phenomenally busy month for us. Ordinarily coffee consumption would be significantly less around this time of year however the unseasonable weather has meant more customers are grabbing a coffee on their travel breaks,” said Scott Martin, Coffee Nation’s chief executive.
July is set to be another busy month for them, say the company, with predicted sales of 500,000 cups of coffee at their roadside locations as the schools break for summer holidays and thousands take to the motorways.
